PAMA Honors Central Ohio Chapter

WARRENDALE, Pa., March 8, 2006 The Central Ohio Chapter of the Professional Aviation Maintenance Association (PAMA) has been selected to receive the PAMA Chapter of the Year Award. PAMA is an affiliate of SAE International. The chapter will be presented the award at the PAMA 35th Annual Aviation Maintenance Symposium in Las Vegas, March 30.

The award recognizes the overall best PAMA chapter in the categories of administration, membership, scholarships and education.

The four-year-old chapter has made significant strides in promoting education and scholarship in the aviation industry of Central Ohio. Monthly meetings were conducted for inspection authorization renewal training in 2005. Funds were raised with the help of sponsors and corporate members to provide scholarships for new technicians engaged in study in Central Ohio. The chapter supports the Great Lakes Region by donating testing materials to the PAMA National Maintenance Olympics, which takes place each year during the PAMA Aviation Maintenance Symposium. With the cooperation of the Professional Pilots Association, the chapter organizes special events for local aviators, featuring noted speakers from the aerospace field. This month, the chapter is planning an event in conjunction with the Columbus State Community College Aviation Maintenance Symposium. The Ohio Aviation Maintenance Symposium will take place at Bolton Field, March 15-16.
